I have a voice for TV or radio...

I found this great accent evaluating quiz, and I liked what it had to say:

What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

06 - Wyview Crossing

For this project, we had to come up with a story, choose an angle, shoot our interviews, B-roll, and stand-up, write a script, record voice-overs and edit the package. So, it was a story start to finish. Professor Walz turned this final project into a merit-based grade, where only those that were good enough to be shown on “BYU Daily News” would receive full credit. Luckily, I made the final cut, and ended up with an A in the class.

I never use this crosswalk. I don't trust it.

05 - Rob Sorting

This clip is from my Comms. 275 class as well, and features Rob Nyland, my T.A.

For this assignment, we had to tell a story visually through matched-action shots. We recorded our own video and had to piece together 30 minutes of footage of a 10 minute action into 1 minute in length, setting it to music that the T.A. (featured in the video) provided.

You may also notice a shot with a tripod in it. There were so many of us filming that day that he told us it was ok if we saw each other in the shots. Also, we worked in groups, so the style of shot isn’t consistent, as there were three people filming.

04 - Coal Miner

Also from my Comms. 275 class.

For this assignment, we were given clips with audio (also from a story that our Professor did.) The majority of the clips were B-roll, but there was also a long interview clip. We had to choose the story we wanted to tell, write our own script, record our voice-over and assemble the story. We didn’t use the sound booth for the voice-overs, either. This was done in the classroom on my own microphone. The length allowed was 1 minute 30 seconds.
